Restorative and Pranayama class
Taking time out to relax and restore energy levels is essential to living well. Many of us feel tired, ‘stressed out’, challenged by life events from time to time, so its’ important that we do something to counter balance this, shoring up and improving our energy levels.
This monthly class is an active relaxation. The emphasis is on releasing muscle tension, supporting the body with props to create alignment and allow you to remain in the postures so that the benefits can manifest, alternatively stimulating and relaxing the body to move towards balance.
Some of the postures have overall benefits, whilst others will target specific areas such as the lungs, abdomen, shoulders, heart etc.
An aim is to regulate the nervous system, to switch off the body’s stress response, as well as support the respiratory system, through the introduction of some simple pranayama breathing techniques. (As such, a minimum of one years yoga experience is required)
